Some of what construction and manufacturing firms sell is hard to show in a photo. A system that sits behind a facade, a service that runs for years or a process with six stages can take a lot of reading to understand.
An explainer video covers it in under a minute, with a script, a voiceover and animation made for your business. It can go on your website, in a tender, in an email or in an ad.
The script takes most of the thinking. We start with the questions your team answers every week, then cut the words down until someone can follow them on a phone. The drawings come after that, so each one shows what the voice is saying at that moment.
Because the film is animated, nobody has to visit a site, and nothing depends on access, weather or a finished project. That also makes it a good way to explain something that has not been built yet. If your service changes later, we can rewrite the scene it affects and record the voice again without redrawing the whole film.
Who explainer videos are right for
Explainers work best when the hard part is understanding what you do. If your work sells on how it looks, photography or a project film will usually do more.
Manufacturers with a technical product
A film can show how a system goes together and what it solves, which a product photo cannot.
Service firms selling something hard to picture
Consultancy, maintenance and compliance work have little to photograph, so a drawing has to do that job.
Firms launching something new
You can explain a product or service before there are finished projects to point at.
Teams repeating the same explanation
Sales can send the film before a call, so the meeting starts further on.
The problem we solve
People rarely read a long page about a technical service. If they cannot tell quickly what you do and why it matters to them, they move on to a firm they do understand, even when your work is better. A short film gets the idea across before they have decided whether to keep reading.
How we approach explainer videos
- 01
Find the questions
We ask what your team explains again and again, and what buyers get wrong before the first call.
- 02
Write the script
A short script in plain English, signed off by you before anything is drawn.
- 03
Record the voice
We choose a natural voice that suits your brand and you hear the script read before we animate.
- 04
Animate it
Drawings and motion in your brand colours, with each scene matched to what is being said.
- 05
Cut it for each place
The main film, plus a 30-second cut and a vertical cut for phones where you need them.
What changes
Understood sooner
Someone can get the idea in under a minute, before they have read a word of the page.
Useful in more than one place
The same film works on your website, in a tender, in an email and in an ad.
No site visit needed
It is made from your script and brand, so access and weather do not come into it.
Simple to update
When a service changes, the scene it affects can be rewritten without redrawing the whole film.
What is an explainer video?
A short animated film with a voiceover that explains a product, service or process in plain English.
How long should an explainer video be?
The ones on this page run between 35 and 46 seconds. We can also cut a 30-second version for Google and social.
Do we need to supply footage?
No. The film is drawn and animated from the script. If you have logos, brand colours or project photographs, we can work those in.
Who writes the script?
We do, from a conversation with you. You sign it off before we start animating.
Where can we use the film?
On your website, in tenders and proposals, in emails, on your Google profile and in ads. Vertical cuts are available for phones and social.
Got something hard to explain?
Tell us what it is and we will show you how it could work as a short film.
